Biography

Honduran born, Daniel Zacapa, was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. One of Hollywood’s established character actors he’s worked steadily since the 1980′s, guest-starring on many top television shows. A series regular on Showtime’s highly acclaimed “Resurrection Blvd,” the 1st English- speaking weekly series in the history of television to be produced, written, directed by, and starring Latinos. He portrayed Tio Ruben, the heart and soul of the Santiago family.

He was a recipient of an ALMA Award in 1998 for Best-Supporting Actor for his work in “Foto Novelas” on PBS. In film, Daniel has shared the screen with such diverse actors as Walter Matthau & Jack Lemmon in ‘Odd Couple 2′, Morgan Freeman & Brad Pitt in ‘Se7en’, Brad again in ‘The Mexican’, Robert Redford & Michelle Pfeiffer in ‘Up Close & Personal’, Michelle for the 1st time along with Kurt Russell & Mel Gibson in ‘Tequila Sunrise’, Forrest Whitaker in ‘Witness Protection’, Sam Jackson in George Clooney’s directorial debut in ‘Confessions of A Dangerous Mind’, to name a few.

Completed work on 5 independent films in post-production this year and last including starring with Bai Ling in ‘The Gene Generation’ and Bobby Moresco’s ‘The Kings of Appletown’ a modern day retelling of Mark Twains ‘Tom Sawyer’, all of which are due out this year.

He is currently in Detroit, Michigan shooting an ABC mid-season replacement, ‘ The Prince of Motor City ‘ playing Marty Rameriz. He will return to L.A. on July 9th to continue on stage in The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble’s production of  ‘Shel Silverstein Uncensored’ in West Los Angeles playing a N.Y. husband in crisis, a cowboy poet, and Barney, the world’s one and only, legitimate, authentic, talking dog. The show runs thru August 3rd. He hopes to see you there!
